Can you make my existing garage door opener smart?
Often yes. If your current opener has Security+ 2.0, a myQ Smart Garage Hub adds full app control without a new motor, from about $80 plus install. Older openers that lack it usually need a complete smart opener instead.
The hub mounts to the ceiling, wires to your existing opener, and uses a door sensor to report open and closed status to the myQ app. We test compatibility before recommending it, so you do not pay for a hub that will not work with your unit. If your opener is over 12 years old or already strains, replacing it with a smart belt drive is usually the better value over a hub on a worn motor.
